River Avon Cruises

Avon Gorge Trips
Traveling west against the flow of the incoming tide we pass under the Clifton Suspension Bridge and with the walls of the gorge towering over us head seaward. After a few miles the gorge opens up and falls away on either side of the river following around horseshoe bend we pass by Sea Mills with its Roman harbour still visible. Past the old gunpowder store, past Chapel Pill with its small shrine chiseled into its rock face and onwards pass Pill and under the M5 bridge to Avonmouth. Here at the point where the river joins the mighty Seven Estuaries we reach the turning point of our trip. Pausing briefly as we turn you may well see very large merchant ships being lead into Royal Portbury Dock. We arrive back in Bristol at the top of the tide, leaving you, we hope, memories that will stay with you longer than the trip home afterwards.
